ande84
Hi Has anyone got any pictures of how a 200tdi exhaust mounts to the chassis please? I have got a na chassis and want to fit a 200 tdi exhaust with my 300tdi engine conversion
western
200tdi exhaust uses the pin & rubber ring type fittings, see page 659 on in http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/parts_books/90/7_brakes_fuel_air_exhaust_cool_heat_p581-718.pdf
ande84
Thanks but was after some pictures of one fitted to a 90 so I can see where the brackets are fitted to the chassis
Eightpot
A late 300 tdi exhaust is a better fit, using ESR4527 rather than the 200 style sideways mounted rear silencer. For the best fit, cut a section out of the downpipe, 170mm from memory, which then makes the rear flange sit in the normal position for a factory 300tdi. I always cut/reweld the section behind the vertical pipe as its on a slight downward angle and the rear bit then clears the crossmember better...if that makes sense.. You can then use a standard 300 centre box which mounts pretty easy. halfords sell universal exhaust mounts that are useful. I normally weld an exhaust mount on the mid chassis crossmember to take a regular rubber exhaust mount, rear mount is easily modified and then rig one up hanging off the transfer box.
