Dora
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this but here goes..I have four 6 LED lights I want to fix to my roof rack and wire them together on one switch. I was thinking of making up some sort of harness which I can connect each light to in case of failures rather than solder everything together, but would need some sort of T connectors and plugs, preferably waterproof. Does anyone know where I can sorce such things or know another way to do it?
Range Rover Blues
You could try these. If you hunt around on the bay you might find the same connector broken down so you can fit your own wire to them, however for best results you need a really good crimping tool for the connector inserts. Aragorn
You can buy them here: http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/Small_Superseal_Connectors.html or these http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/Econoseal_Connectors.html or at various other retaillers, just search for them by name. You'll need the correct crimping tool to make up your harness as well.
Dora
I have seen those sort of connectors but they dont seem to do a T piece so I can daisy chain them. Unless there is a different way of linking them.
missingsid
Thats why manufacturers make soldered or crimped three way joints in the wires instead it is much cheaper.
Aragorn
Yep, use a inline butt crimp and heatshrink to create the split. You get butt crimps with the gluey heatsink pre-attached too.
Bowie69
I tend to find a soldered joint in that instance to be much slimmer and tidier, with glue-lined heatshrink over of course.
Dora
OK, so the answer is no then.. Not to worry, I've sorted it with bullet connectors and lashings of silicone! Makes it easy as pie to pull apart and replace up under the roof rack.
