landroversforever
Nice! Is there a reason your main hoop is laid back?
Soren Frimodt
Nice! Is there a reason your main hoop is laid back? yes, actually there is. The laid back main hoop style is mostly american, and not one I'm particularly fond of.. But in this case it was the only way to have the 'feet' of the hoop far enough forward to clear the tyres whilst the top is far enough back to be behind my head. Any other ways would have required a main hoop with more bends in it, and more bends=weaker. So that's why
landroversforever
That makes perfect sense
Soren Frimodt
Moving along rather nicely. Seat+harness in: Rearwinch and fairlead: Steering column and pedals: And finally the dash was painted red and fitted up, won't be done until I start wiring though: And lastly I wanted to show you guys that my painter doesn't just paint in Microns, he paints in Millimeters! Soren Frimodt
Brakesystem refitted and bled: And gearlinkage painted and fitted: Began on fitting a different steeringwheel and will finish that up tomorrow. Can't stand the look of that Nissan wheel!
Soren Frimodt
Today was mostly about wiring, thankfully a very simple task on this thing. Decided to run the wires for the brakelights on the outside of the tube, instead of inside which was my original plan. Just because it will make fixing a potentially bent tube much easier: But I think it turned out okay, even though the wire's are now somewhat visible. Next up got the brakelights lid up! But unfortunately I broke the brake light switch so will have to source a new one, but here's where it sits: Wiring at the "firewall": Fan for the radiator fitted and wired: And finally a picture of the steering wheel fitment, had to space it a bit closer for best possible driving position, so will have to find a piece of some plastic tubing or something to cover up that gaping area: All gauges in and wired:
Soren Frimodt
She was outside today! And finally I got her weighed in, which means its quiz-time!! How much do you reckon it ways as it sits on the last picture? Ready to run with all fluids in?

Soren Frimodt
Great guesses everybody, and I must admit I had overestimated the weight well and truly! My own guess while building was something like 1500-1600kgs, however it was a featherweight of only 1150kgs! And I have less than a 100kgs more to add, so I'm super stoked to say the least! So Ross wins, but then again he did get two chances :P

deep
Flip, I thought I had read this properly. I completely missed the part where you had used a flexible, wooden chassis! I just got in from work. I guess 1,150Kg. How did I do?
