russellc
Could someone please advise if this carb is connected correctly. It seems to me that the choke does nothing at the bottom. Thanks, Russell
lo-fi
I've got one sat in my workshop that hasn't been messed with, I'll go and take a look later. From memory, the choke is supposed to just knock the throttle open a little. If the throttle plate isn't closing properly, the cam won't hit the peg, and it will do nothing, though, so that's a good place to start checking. Have you just done an overhaul? russellc
I have issues with fuel. My series 3 won't start without the choke, runs rough and doesn't idle. I just took if off again, opened it up, and it appears clean. But I found this part in the bowl! Do you know where it is supposed to go? Can't find it on the Zenith parts diagram. Pepé le Pew
I have never worked on the Zenith, but according to my manuals it is supposed to sit on the other end of the accelerator pump spindle. Eric
russellc
All sorted. It pays to sleep on it. The part is the Venturi activator. All back in place now and the landy purrs. Thanks for your help!
