Davecrx
Hi So I have a 95 Disco 1 which is currently running (used to run) 3.5 V-belt V8 with megasquirt I have now got myself a 4.6 gems v8 from a RR which I am going to be swapping over. The few questions I have about doing the swap is:- 1. The 4.6 has the thermostat in the bottom rad hose where the 3.5 has it in the top. Am I right in thinking I could do away with the remote stat in the bottom hose, run the normal disco hose and fit the stat in the top hose take off by using the old 3.5 thermostat housing?? 2.The 4.6 has two hose (which have been cut) coming from the oil filter housing/pump which I think are for an oil cooler, the 3.5 has never had an oil cooler but the rad has four connections on it. Would I be right in thinking a can buy a set of new pipes and connect them to the rads oil cooler? 3. As the power steering pump is mounted differently it doesn't look like the power steering hoses will fit on the serp pump. Do I need to change the hose to a later serp type hose or can the v-belt type hoses still work? That all I can think to ask at the moment. Thanks Dave
