Wa02ger
Afternoon all, as stated in the title. My 2015 90 is due for its first 12 month service and has done just 6000. The bit that is troubling me is LR want £480 to service my vehicle. I am therefore contemplating taking it to a Land Rover specialist. My question is then does anyone know/recommend a good specialist to take it to near Coventry? Many thanks, Matt
pete3000
Question is, is it still under warranty if you go outside LR stealer in first 12, 24, or 36 months?
Retroanaconda
As long as the other garage uses Land Rover parts and the correct oil the dealer cannot void the warranty.

Yes, providing the parts fitted are JLR parts then it will continue to be under warrantee.

Tanuki
Anyone can do the servicing - provided they follow the book meticulously - without influencing the warranty. You mean you didn't negotiate the first-service as being included *at no extra cost* in the purchase price? Shame on you! When I bought my 90, even though it was a personal import from a Belgian LR dealer, the deal was that the first-service would be included. When the UK dealer I took it to expected me to pay for the service I just gave them the details of the Belgian supplying-dealer and said "These people are paying - it's in the contract". [First service, 10,800 miles - new front discs and pads needed! I 'run-in' my vehicles by working them hard and fast].
pat_pending
Not quite true "anyone" can service it. If a problem occurs within the warranty period and the servicing has been carried out by a non franchised garage, Land Rover would require the following as proof of service. An original invoice from a VAT registered garage. This must detail the specification of all fluids used. All parts used must be genuine and itemised. The manufactures service schedule must have been followed as evidenced by a signed copy of the service check sheet. A lot of places will be able to quote on servicing it cheaper than Land Rover, however that's usually because the don't use gen' parts and don't do everything on the manufactures schedule. While it's under warranty stay within the dealer network. What did you pay for it £25-30,000? and you don't want to pay £500 to service it. You can probably negotiate that down anyway. Maverik
After just getting a 110 serviced you'll find that the main chunk of that £480 goes on the oil, costs a fortune.
Wa02ger
Thank you all. I'll be contacting LR and trying to play one dealer/stealer off against another to see what the cheapest I can drive them too. Once again, thank you and happy Land rovering

Couldnt you supply the oil then? If they're marking it up stupidly, buy your own and tell them to use that.
TheKeymeister
Andys Landys on Binley industrial estate....seem to know their stuff Heard mixed reviews about Douglass Motors at Wolston Town and Country Land Rover in Cubbington, only ever used them for parts but they might do servicing too The garage at Marton always seem to have a couple of Landys knocking about as well Hope this helps....
