Anderzander
I've just replaces a brake hose, which went very smoothly .....except for taking the wheel off. I'd asked a garage to fit new discs a little while back as I was struggling for time - and they tightend the wheel nuts so hard I bent my brace and my breaker bar. I'm going to try a halfords breaker bar - but can anyone recommend a wheel brace that is made out of decent metal please ?
mmgemini
Don't bother with a wheelbrace, just buy a breaker bar and a deep impact socket for the wheel nuts. I haven't had a wheelbrace all the time I've had my Defender I have a length of pipe which slides over my breaker bar handle to help with the tight ones. ps. you should be using a torque wrench to tighten wheel nuts. landroversforever
I've got a halfords breaker bar and it's great. As for keeping in the truck, I always had one of those extendable ones in there.
dave88sw
I've always just carried a breaker bar with a 27mm socket. I hate the standard wheel brace
western
I have one like this bought years ago http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/371791/0/wheel_brace_heavy_duty plus my long breaker bar & 27mm impact socket & torque wrench
qwakers
my lorry wheel nuts are the same size so i use my 1" drive breaker bar and impact socket for the landy wheels. i can undo overtightened wheel nuts with one hand.,,
Mo Murphy
I use the standard land rover wheel brace, now I feel so inadequate ? However, I've never had them come loose and I can undo them when I need to, which, I think, is the idea. Mo
Maverik
I'd second Ralph, I've got a small solid bar like that and its great as you can easily extend with a bit of tube if needed.

muddy
Halfords breaker bar with laminated reciept in the car, that way when it breaks you can get it swapped. I have mine behind the seats and a draper bar in the rear door pocket of the disco, don't forget appropriately sized socket for any trailers you might regularly tow..... Will. Steve King
I bought an extendible brace a while back and it shifts the most recalcitrant of nuts!!!
