landroversforever
Yep, spray it! Take you all of a morning. I think I did two coats on mine over two evenings... and used less paint than I did brushing about 2m worth of wall. If it was my own place I'd have done a few more coats to smooth the blockwork out a bit.
geoffbeaumont
What did you spray it with? Masonry paint? Wondering cause I've still got two thirds of my workshop to do...
Bowie69
White emulsion is plenty good enough, thin it a bit.
landroversforever
I can't remember exactly.... It was a leyland trade paint, I think it probably was a masonry one.
Maverik
Shelves are in... load tested to 75kg... Shelve struts well out the way, I have to lean forward stand on my tip toes and jump to get anywhere near banging my head...
UdderlyOffroad
Looks incredibly smart Mav, now do yourself a favour and get a man-size vice ;-) Actually, I'm curious...you appear to have sacrificed a lot of bench space to park your topchest? Are you thinking that the base unit will therefore be more mobile and you can wheel your tools to the job? Matt
Maverik
Now the vice.... I'm actually surprised no one said something earlier... That vice has travel with me for 10yrs from garage to garage and only a handful of times have I wanted something bigger, so figured that will be the one to go forward with. If the opportunity arises to acquire summet bigger then it should be pretty straight forward swapping it over. Regarding tools.. I actually use the top as my bolt storage.. And bottom are main tools. Until I work something else out for my nuts and bolts it kinda works. But it does suck up my bench space I agree.
CwazyWabbit
Yeah but now you have a mans bench it's time for a mans vice How's that for a convincing argument?
qwakers
what height did you go for in the end?
Maverik
Oh sorry I missed this. 900mm in the end, seems a good compromise so far. So on vice front... payment for doing some towing... I think it's too big... takes up the whole flippin bench... I might make it removable...
landroversforever
I'm going to make my vice removable when I finally get round to installing it, bench space is too valuable to have it taken up all the time.
CwazyWabbit
Must've been quite a long tow, they seem to regularly make £150.
