Who is the OEM for the 200tdi viscous fan?

Recommended Posts

On some of the longer hill climbs in the alps recently, the temp gauge moved more than normal. Never went out of the white portion of the gauge (for what that's worth), but it did move more than it ever does in the uk.

Checking the fan the other day, it wasn't stiff to move at all when the engine was warm, so I think I'll replace the viscous unit.

Who is oem? Island have some Borg Warner units at a reasonable price. Are they any good?

A Famous auction site also has many for sale from land rover shops for around £30. you could opt for an electric fan that comes on at a preset temperature. you could also put a bypass switch on it , in case you want to run the fan manually.

My defender 200Tdi run a little warmer when climbing the hills is devon, but cools again soon after. i'm not sure i'd worry if i were you. i dont have a viscous fan. i have an electric fan. which rarely needs to come on.
