Hi all have a problem with the oil seal in the timing case of a 300tdi lump, I have just replaced my original engine with a second hand unit with considerable less milage on it old lump had blown a head gasket with 248000 miles on it and the new one has 72000 on it ?, have just striped it down to do timing belt and water pump just for good measure, on replacing the seal in outer cover I find that it's not just a seal but roller as well unlike the new seal which is the right part number from land rover ! So on looking at the other engine I find that it's the same on that as well, how can this be different on both engines to part that I've ordered or is this a change that land rover have up dated and not said anything about any help gratefully accepted on this matter as I need to get engine running asap.

With thank Stuart
