P38 Paul
Hello Peeps , Had a starting / glow plug problem on my P38 diesel so I ordered & received 6 new bearmach glow plugs & fitted them to the truck . The starting problem was even worse so I took them out again & stuck each one across a spare battery to see if they were working ok , They all worked but took there time to reach full glow , I then tool the 4 remaining old glow plugs & did the same & found they came up to full glow in a 1/3 of the time . I don't think there is any other problem with the system , just the glow plugs . So I got a replacement set of Bearmach plugs but found these to be the same as the first set , So my question is , what is the best replacement set or brand that I can buy which will heat up quicker than the Bearmach ones to solve this starting problem ? The old ones have no markings on them so I think they might be the cheap & cheerful type but they still started the truck for over 3 years . Has anyone else had this problem with the Bearmach brand plugs ? Regards , Paul .
Tanis8472
I would do a search on eurocarparts.com IIRC the oem plugs are Beru
pete3000
No ideas what ours were when they were replaced, got them from car spares distribution, think ngk or delphi ring a bell. about £28 set did the leakoff tubing at the same time and replaced the rubber tubing to the air plenum, after the 2009/10 cold weather caused cranking and smoke but no start.
