2009 Freelander 2 Wing Mirror Removal

I have tried searching for a relatable thread but couldn't see any!

Is there any how to's on wing mirror cap removal as my girlfriend has managed to hit hers and we have a spare wing mirror with a knackered motor and I would like to combine the 2 to make 1 decent mirror.

The current wing mirror isnt so badly damaged that I want to smash it and see how it locates. Ideally I would like to keep it at a spare?

The only issue is that I cannot find anywhere that tells me how to take it apart and I cannot see how to do it without smashing it to pieces!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Burbs
