Yet another tailgate question
in Freelander Forum
Posted
Hi all,
I have seen a number of posts concerning MK1 tailgates not opening and having window failures. Mine (2005 TD4) will unlock just fine, but the window doesn't work at all, even using the console switch. The fuses are good and I hear a relay click in the boot when I operate the switch, but no sound from the window motor. My question is this, if I disconnect/reconnect the battery and the window rolls down, can I get it back up manually if it doesn't respond to the switch again? She thinks that there is a door open, as she bips the horn when I lock her up, which I'm assuming to be related the non functioning window.
If the window doesn't roll down, how much of a faff is it to replace the motor and/or associated wiring?
Sorry to be covering an old topic, but I don't want to risk having a stuck open window.
Any advice please?
