Hi
Just bought a 200tdi disco. The temp gauge sits at at the quarter mark when fully warmed up, is this correct? Every car I have owned, the gauge has sat around the halfway mark.
Thanks
Rich

Didn't think a B-reg would have indicators in the wings?

Usually they stick (can't get into gear) rather than slip.
Maybe an oil leak from the rear end seal contaminating the clutch, whether that or something else you are probably going to have to do something about it
Bloody land rovers. lol

Hi
My landy has been off the road since april for a repaint and other bits and pieces. Drove it back home today and now the clutch is slipping. Is this just a temporary problem from being stood for so long. Or can the clutch be on the way out? I hope not

Probably because you put the wrong oil in and ran it for a year
MTF 75W-90 is a highly shear stable, multigrade manual transmission fluid. It is
designed for transmissions and transaxles which require an API GL-4, SAE 75W-90 viscosity
lubricant, as specified by Ford, G.M.H., Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu and others.

Maybe its because the rivets aren't genuine?

Hi
Trying to reattach the passenger side arch spat on my 90 and having a hard time. Those crappy plastic rivets are driving me insane! Can't push the pin through with my thumb as its too hard. Try to use a hammer or screwdriver and the pin just bends! Is there a special way to do it?
Thanks

should be plastic rivets all round on the front, certainly are on my '89 110.
That's what I thought and was surprised to see nuts and bolts instead.

MUC3186 fixing clip x 20 [10 per door] & AJU1136L Snapsac [10 per door] x 20
CZK619
MRC8378
AFU1075 plastic rivet x 32 [16 per side] no bolts/nuts on these.
Thanks for the help. The nuts and bolts were holding the spat to the inside wing and those plastic rivets to the outer wing.

TDi !!!! The N/A would be a waste of time and effort.

Hi
I need the part numbers for the following:
Clips for the galvanised trim on the early 90 front doors.
Spire nuts that hold the wing top vent trim in place.
Seal between the heater fan and the plastic housing inside the front wing.
Nuts and bolts for the front spats.
Thanks

Hi
I've noticed that my rear propshaft has come loose from the transmission brake drum. When I tried to tighten the nuts, the bolts keep spinning and I can't remove the nuts. Grrr... Is there a simple way to remove them? Are the propshaft bolts held by splines on the flange?

If your Landy isn't needed for everyday use, then go for galvanised chassis. Makes sense in the long run.

SuperPro all the way. Fitted the complete bush kit to my 90 and was impressed by the quality compared to other polybushes available.

Is the rad for the disco and defender 200 TDi the same? The reason I'm asking is I have is a 90 with a 200tdi conversion, and I'm not sure what radiator I have at the moment.
Thanks

whats the best way to get it out and then back in again. i was thinkin holding it from above with an engine crain then lowerin it down and then lifting it up by just reversing the process

I have found that the quality of service has dropped over the last few years. Every time they have told me, that they would call me regarding a part etc. They have never bothered! Never had a issue with swapping parts, but I only live down the road from them. I expect it would be a different issue if I had to order parts through the post..... So now I have started to use Paddocks instead, much better.

Hi all,
A while back I fitted an Alisport intercooler to my 90. Only problem was, as my 90 was originally a N/A and the intercooler is for a 200tdi, my landy is missing the bottom mounting points. I think they are normally used for the cross braces. Does anyone know the part numbers for the mounts? I looked on microcat but can't find them.
Thanks

That's a really good idea. The tail pipe silencer is pretty small, so would give a throaty sound without being too loud.
300s did have a rear silencer tucked up between the rear chassis rails, why not go straight through down pipe and mid pipe and fit the rear silencer?ran a similar setup on my td5 (non cat front and straight through mid) was fine like that.

I have a feeling that the Difflock Oil is just Redline MTL in a different bottle.
-
The threads are finer then that. It has a cut out in the middle of it, so a allen key can also be used.
-
I've tried 4 different caps off Land Rovers and none fit. Crazy!

Hi all,
My radiator filler cap is strange. It has different threads to what it should have and nothing fits it! I bought a fancy one from X-Engineering which didn't fit, so I checked the threads and mine has much finer threads. I have a 90 200 TDi conversion and I expect it must be using the disco rad and frame.
Thanks

Fixed it!!!! Removed the cover on the top of the transfer box, where there is a shaft with two forks on it. Pushed the rod which the forks normally push into the transfer box. Now I have High box! Must be the linkage needs to be adjusted. Haven't got a clue how though.
