Since owning my 2000 td5 defender i have been having problems with fuel dropping from the fuel pressure regulator.
I have fitted a FPR repair kit (the plate between the casing and the engine) and new o-rings to the regulator itself but the problem persists. I have a feeling that the fuel is coming from the hole in the regulator, but when i removed the whole unit there was a bit of dirty grime between the casing and the old gauze, at the lowest point of the unit. All fuel lines are dry and showing no evidence of leaking.
I am struggling to figure out if all i need is a replacement regulator by itself and im worrying about a bit of grime, or will i need a new casing aswell?
Anyone had experience of this and can give me some advice?
