Anyway we got this tree on the last action and fall into a big hole. And than it was uncontrolable. On this weekend we will have the next race, need to do it with a 110 steering box. Will be interesting.

Have you considered trying a box from an HGV , 16" boggers are going to be savage on anything else
Not yet, too lot of problem with that.
Bigger phisical size and weight, less place for our full size width intercooler, bigger hydro pipes and pump, difficoult fitting....
We are looking some rock crawler or russian technik what is seriously stronger but not lot of bigger.

P38 are supposedly zf and should be stronger than disco II
i've seen someone using one from a nissan - seem to fit quite nicely

I am looking for any steering box alternative. Which would be the strongest one what is fitting somehow to a defender chassis? The discovery 2 box is weak, the hydro is uncontrolable between the hills on the fast romanian races. We have portals and 16" wide boggers.
Any suggestion?

i am going to start posting on the transilvania forum, but figured Id ask her first.
Does anyone know what the trail between camp is like for the support rigs?
How available is LPG on site or around?
Is the race strictly roadbook, or do they give gps markers?
Is anyone else thinking of towing there and might want to follow along? Theres no way we are shipping our rigs.
I know there was more but my brain has gone blank and its time to get to the barn and start chop/cut/rebuild some more.

Ok, in every camp the organizators guaranted place for the trailers.
i think You can buy LPG everywhere, but we never used it. We have diesel cars.
Here you will get roadbook every morning before the start.
I think you need the tow your trailer because its easy to get any serious damage, but the organizators will help in everything.
They are very lovely and helpful and they like the foreign racers.
We are from only hungary, but they were very lovely with us.

We are debating puttin together a team for this, but there is no rules posted on the site. Do you know what they allow and don't allow? Mainly what size tyre per class, and what do they have to say about portal axles and hydro steer??
I asked it because we also have portals and hydro steering, they said its not problem, but i know nothing from the tyre size. I think there will be the rules soon.
But the romanians like to make really crazy cars so i think there won't be any problem. I think the only criteria the 2 winch and the strong roll cage.

the disc brake kit comes with both Jeep or Defender stud pattern but not the small Landrover pattern - can you have your wheels re-centered?
single beadlocks are ok, but they have problems - Im going to use Stazworks double beadlocks again, they worked well even at Zero bar,
I seem to remember your Dad and me got rid of parlinka last christmas - this year maybe you can show us old men how to do it properly? I will bring some Plymouth gin just in case

You could always use adapters, it's not ideal but it would save buying new wheels.

The wheels still a big problem. Now lot of hungarian made single beadlocks but i think these aren't the best.
The question is only that single or double beadlocked?
And the other thing, if we have enough money for the brakes we will buy a portal trek kit from you, and then we need wheels with defender stud pattern.
If we cant buy breakes we need for the disco2 stud pattern.

Hm interesting..... I never heard from these. But it can be possible this is middle europe.
I think this technik was typical in the communism time, before 89 . Today the hungarian barbars don't rob out your caravan.
In Hungary next to the motorway you can find lot of hotel or safety parking place or petrol station with camera you can sleep there.
