Thanks I’ll check after work and have a look. I did pull the push rods one by one. I’ll check the cam is moving the push rods as well. Going to try blending at he injectors as well just to make sure there’s fuel there too 👍

Hi my 300 tdi stopped on the drive the other day, turns out it was the cam belt tensioning wheel collapsed. I’ve replaced the belt and timed up etc and it won’t start I’ve removed the rocker cover and rail expecting to find the push rods bent however they were fine. I would normally check valves but have read it’s highly unlikely there bent if the push rods aren’t bent. Has anyone got any ideas before I take the head off. Thanks in advance wes

Just removed the pushrods and they are all fine no damage. Any ideas on why to try next? 👍

Hi sorry for the delay I removed the timing belt cover to find a collapsed tensioner , I’ve since replaced the belt an re timed it up and still won’t start so I presume it’s bent valves or push rods or both so need to investigate a bit more has anyone got any experience on what order to check first 😁

Hi fairly new to defenders I have a 300 tdi 90, which has been running great, the other morning I started it up while I moved another vehicle out of the way to get out it ran for about five mins and cut out and won’t restart, I’ve changed the lift pump and checked I have 12v at the fuel cut solenoid. I have also cracked injectors one by one and appears to have fuel at each one when being turned over. Has anybody got any ideas what to check next? Before checking the timing hasn’t jumped which I can’t see happening at idle. Thanks in advance Wes

The clutch in mine is an AP racing clutch. Been in there a couple of years and is an absolute delight
Is it the same feel as the standard clutch? 👍
