turns out the following happened

1, When she was plugged onto the computer, somehow the Alternator regulator threw its hand in.

2, that led to approx 17 volts being thrown all over place,

3, Gearbox ECU complained about this and burnt a Diode out. this led to the problems engaging any form of drive.

Solution

1, a new diode was fitted to the ECU (clever bloke)

2, new alternator fitted,

3, fired 'er up, in gear and off she went, SWEET!

4, original problem of the ABS and TC light flashing still there, but a quick reset of the sensors and stuff, problem gone
