  2. Hi JCB,

I actually like the genuine tomb raider model (as in the film) but am with nige on on the current 60th, puke warmed up best describes it in my book!

Anyway back to your question, softop is surprisingly warm compared to an un-insulated truck cab or van body, but you will still be freezing by modern car standards! that is unless you fit the V8 in the hi-cap.

Personally I'd look out for a good condition truck cab for winter then maybe a bikini top for "summer" (read less rain) and just keep a rain coat in the truck all the time. But I drive a soft top all year round and found the best solution was to wear my snowboarding jacket with the hood up :)

I think safety devices can supply the roll cage that is fitted to that model, the rest is just bolt-on's apart from the interior which is mostly chequer plate with a nice racing steering wheel.

    here's the pic's I have when I saw it.

    what I really want

I want to take it off road with mates / Camping in the middle of no where. i like the size of it.

yeah i was thinking of the V8.

And no i don't want the Pipe tube nor the stupid TR symbols etc, they look stupid, but the beast it self looks awsome, but not as good as the army landie. that is some nice stuff.

pondering if you can pick up an ex one at all hehe

  3. well iv been looking around and thought i should go with the Defender 110. They look awsome but i stumbled across the Tomb Raider LR special and i thought why shouldnt i try it as a project for my self. have loads of free time and might as well start some where.

But i stumbled acorss one thing i like about it but want to kind of change at the same time.

The Tomb Raider LR Special is just a 110 Hi Cap flat bed. A pic is below

I like the idea of open to the eliments but i also want to be able to be warm and have it coverd at times as well.

The only way i can think is a canvas top. Do you think that is the best way to cover it up at night and still be able to be open to the eliments?

I wanna get all the info of what should be done on paper 1st then start the project.

Any sugestions or ideas on what could be done?

    Cheers

    JCB

  4. ......any which is good condition. Which normally means a late model S3.

It all depends on you mechanical knowledge and your willingness to get your hand dirty really.

My mechanical knowledge is not that great, but im sure some Haynes and other manuals and hand on work should sort that out quickly.

    Thanks for that =)
