  1. I mannaged to leave an inside light on all night and this morning flat as a pancake. Two batteries controlled by IBS management system which shows about 25% charge on both. Tried to jump start, won't turnover. Been on Ctek charger all day, now 75% full, still won't turnover.

The battery light is glowing continuously and the ignition lights show but the engine symboll is on.

Wouldn't have thought a light on for 10 hours should drain both batteries!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

  2. Just bought an after market rear door for my 1998 Defender, 5 door complete with HRW. The spray shop removed the HRW to spray and knackered up the double sided sticky seal. The supplier doesn't supply them :(

Where do I get one from or can I use the seal off the old door or is there another way to make it water tight?

Secondly, the original HRW has a high level brake light. The housing appears to be stuck on, how do I get it off and refit to the new HRW.

Only changing the glass 'cos the elements in the heater are knackered, only one or two working.

    Thanks

  3. might be a stupib bloody question, but that's never stopped me before,

    - you can see two sides of the pin, a plain one and a serrated one, I'm whacking the plain one, is that right?

    - the two washers, do you have to take these off first?

i am sooooooo p*ssed, one little job turning into a nightmare. Tried hammer and punch, vice, all pigging sorts and they just won't shift, what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

  4. I don't think it's a paper washer, it peels off very quickly, think this is just the backing paper off the serrated split washer. washers are mounted on a sticky paper so they're easier to handle at the factory where they're made.

Probably won't get chance to split mine down until the weekend but will sent pics when I do

  5. I'm collecting the bits to replace the back door on my 1998 110 CSW, doors here and ready for painting and new hinge set has arrived as well. The hinges appear to have been coated, possibly galvanizd but my plan is to stove enamell them.

I cannot see how they come apart, the pin has no slotted head, looks like a serated washer under the head with paper in it!!

Can anyone tell me how these things disassemble so I can get it coated or is the coating enough and just paint it.

I'm trying to keep the dreaded rust runs at bay!!

    thanks

  6. I want to replace the seats in my 1998 110 CSW, my lady just can't get comfortable and 'she who must be obeyed' needs to be comfortable. the problem is the angle of the back rest.

Looking around, new seats are a fortune and seats on auctions seem to go for silly money.

Question, will the seats from a Discoovery or Range Rover slot straight in? If the front ones do, what about the middle row?

If I change, I don't want it to look a dogs dinner.

    Thanks in advance
