  1. Hi,

The radio you have is the "VISTEON" unit fitted in the last D2's and some Freelanders.

The link below will take you to the code instructions but beware of the 12 tries rule or it's goosed.

    Regards

    Scrumps

P.S. If someone can make it "clicky" please!!!

Thank you all for your help with this. I eventually found that it worked by toggling the relevant number using the first 4 numbered buttons. The code is entered by pushing the > symbol on top of the RHS menu button

  2. My vehicle is a 2003 Series II Disco TD5 manual. I am asking if anyone knows the procedure for entering the security code. I have the code. Tomorrow I intend disconnecting the battery so I will need to re-activate the radio. Unfortunately the radio instructions did not include a section on entering the code. The radio/CD player has 6 buttons on the front, a single CD slot at the top and vol/bass/reble control on left with band/menu/search on right. Beside the CD slot, on its left is the RDS and on its right is the traffic info button. It has no brand or model name however I have included a photo of the unit in the attachment

  3. The drain plug is definitely a right hand thread. I undid mine yesterday and used a 32mm ring spanner. It was tight but was easily moved with a couple of light hammer taps on the end of the spanner. You will note when removing it that the oil sprays out very quickly so use a large pan oil collector. Be careful not to damage the magnet on the plug. I shattered mine when I accidently dropped the plug while cleaning it.

    Best of luck

  4. Maybe a strange question, but here goes.

I'm trying to do an oil change on the main gearbox today, basically, I have noisy gearchanges now, 1st and 2nd can be a little problematic to get into..even 3rd has started. I do have plans to check/overhaul/replace the clucth master and slave cylinders as it's a problem since the clutch was changed, however, start with the 'easy' stuff first, and to be honest, at 130k mils, it could probably do with it.

My question is, what way does the drain plug unscrew? it may be an odd question, but it is stuck in that hole damn tight and I don't want to brute force it the wrong way, and car manufacturers have a habit of throwing in a reverse thread nut/bolt from time to time.

    Ta

  5. I would like to confirm the good advice provided in the link. The fuel regulator leaked on my Td5 about 18 months ago and cost $650 to replace at a dealer in Sydney. It is apparently a fairly common event and may re-occur.
