  1. hi does your freelander have air con ?

if it does it will do as you report when the a/c compressor cuts in engine rpm will drop and recover and cooling fans will cut in & out. also if a/c is switched off and heater controls set to screen a/c is also automatical turned on.

    hope this helps

Hi theres no air con, The problem seams intermittent, sometimes comeing on from cold.

  2. my 1999 diesel freelander fan has started to come on even when cold and the engine has a odd power drop now and again, Ive checked oil and water levels, and renewed the fuel filter. now wondering if its a sensor or ecu type problem! any ideas?

  3. Hi Ken

Have a gander round the site and search for Britpart related topics. You will find that their gear is not held in high regard.

It may involve a bigger initial outlay, but genuine spec goods or even proper branded LR goods will almost definately save you money, time and aggravation in the long run.

    Dan ;)

thanks Dan Iam realiseing this as I also found a worn engine stabaliser, all put on the motor aprox 18months ago. You would think parts from a company supplying parts to the MOD and others, thay would be spot on!

  4. Hi I have a 1999 diesel freelander, I replaced the viscose coupling (recon unit)and the bearings (Brit part) aprox 18 months ago. things have never been quiet. But just lateley rumbling has got louder, and then the otherday I started getting a loud howling noise.I can feal some vibration on the prop tunnel. I am now woundering if the bearings, coupling, or even the rear diff are faulty. Ive also noted ther is no way to grease the bearings! or have I missed something . Only used to series models and range rovers, Grease nips everywhere. None on a freelander( backward step I think) HELP PLEASE

  5. driveing through town the other day, I had to stop quick and reverse out the way quickley for a ambulance to pass. When I pulled forward the TC, hill decent, & ABS lights all came on in amber. A few mins later tha went off. Later same day about 50miles later, we went over a bump and the lights came back on.

Has anyone any ideas wots going wrong, just had a recon IRD fitted, while she was on the ramp we tested the viscus coupling by useing 2 bars to turn the props against each other, and there was movement between tight,But tha turned.

All this is new to me as Ive only had older modelsS11-s111, RRs, no computers!

    HHHHHHHHHHHHHELP
