  1. Which engine do you have?

    Assuming it is a 1.8 petrol, there are 3 primary causes for this failure...

    1) Split heater hose

    2) Inlet manifold gasket failure

    3) Head Gasket failure

    Given the rate at which you are losing water, then I would plump for 1) or 3) as probable candidates....

    I am sure there are other potential causes, but that is where I would be looking.

  2. Hello Guys,

    I have noticed resently that the level of water in the header tank kept going down, but there is no leak anywhere. Anytime I top up the water in the header tank by the end of the day it would have gone down a bit, when I check it after two days the header tank would be empty I will have to top it up again.

    What really baffle me is that I could not find leakage anywhere.

    Can someone please help me with what might be the problem or point me in the right direction of what to check and solution to this problem.

    Real easy if you have the tools and can use them....parts are around £20 IIRC from the stealers

    Whats your location as someone might be able to help you.....and while your under there check the other mounts too.
