Hello folks,
searching now for nearly 3 hours in the www and not able to find the right partnumbers. I have to order tomorrow. I didn´t find a S2a partscatalogue with partsnumbers. The only partnumbers I´ve found was:
clutch plate S3 FRC 2297 ??
S2a 6pot 241mm (9.2 in) diameter diaphragm type clutch - is that the correct part ? - no partnumbers
S2a clutch all 4cyl. models single dry 230mm (9 in) diameter - is that the correct part? - no partnumbers
Who can give me the correct partnumbers I need for :
clutch cover/pressure plate (basket) partnumber:
clutch plate S3 or late S2a partnumber:

Thanks Bill,
hope that will help!
Cheers

Hi folks,
same project, some problems:
2,25 L petrol 5brg instead of 2 L petrol into 86" S1 with original S1 gearbox.
2,25 l 5brg petrol with S3 flyhousing, S3 flywheel (8 bolts for fixing)
Early S2 bellhousing at the original S1 gearbox and now: Which clutch withdrawal mechanism ? The original from the S1 bellhousing or from the S2 bellhousing ?
Next question: Which clutch basket will fit at the S3 flywheel, because S3 flywheel has 3 dowel ( at 10.oo/2.oo and 6.oo o´clock) for locating the clutch basket, S1 clutch basket needs only 2 dowels (at 3.ooh and 9.ooh) for locating the clutch basket.
Does somebody know if the S2 clutch basket will fit an a S3 flywheel with 3 locating dowels?
Which clutch plate? S2 ?
Thanks in advance

Very good, thanks for the pics.
S2 bellhousing, mounting brackets I have.
Now I have to look for the exhaust:
Which one?
page 45 , picture down left, last pipe # GEX 1376 for 109 petrol
http://www.bearmach.com/acatalog/series_fastparts_A4_lo.pdf
Does the front exhaust pipe still go through the wing, outside the chassis, only a little bit deeper as the SI - pipe?
Or does the pipe go down inside the engine bay and underneath the chassis it moves outside along the passenger seat area to go around the gearbox ?
Radiator hose, accelerator rod/lever, etc. will be no problem, I hope.
Only the carb adaptor to aircleaner hose will be a bit of experiment.
If there will be a problem, Ed maybe You can run outside and make some pictures again
Geoff and Ed, thanks for your help

This procedure is very common in UK, but it looks like, that noone knows exactly what to do.
Another information reached me, that I have to use one SI engine mounting bracket and on the other side a SII/III engine mounting bracket for having no problems with flywheelhousing rest on the chassis cross member. But the mate can´t remember which one on which side.
Who has fine and concrete details of what to do and which part to use? Sorry I haven´t two boxes full of old stuff in the cellar for playing try and error. I have to buy and must organize everything, especially older parts.

I guess, roundabout 1200/1300kg

Okay, as far as I know now:
Original SI-bellhousing to early SII-bellhousing cause SIII-Flywheel has another drilling template/ middle stud at 12.ooh. Does the "manual" SI clutch pedal move the SIII clutch basket?
And when I´ll go the other way? Changing the SIII-Flywheel housing and Flywheel and Clutch basket etc? Does the SI-flywheelhousing fit at the SIII-engine with the SI-flywheel and the SI-clutch(basket )etc? Will there be a lenght-problem, maybe with the shaft ?

Hi family,
I need your advice and help!
Serie I 86" RHD 1955 with original 2L petrol (spread bore) with original SI flywheelhousing/clutch/gearbox and original radiator
I have to switch the engine for a while
my original 2l petrol into a 2,3l petrol (5xcrankshaft bearing from SIII)
Which parts I´ll have to change, too:
Only flywheelhousing? Into which part?
Exhaustpipe?
Radiatorhose?
Engine mountings to chassis?
Oilbath aircleaner hose ?
Accelerator lever and rods because carb is now on the other side? Any pictures for me?
Dampers and springs I have from SII so I can use it again.
Dynamo connection to voltage control box (LU37138A) ?
Is the 2,3l nearer under the bonnet ? Any modifications herefor?
Please answer with concrete details/ mabe partnumbers and/or pics/links .
Thanks in advance
Uli from Germany
