  1. Ive just noticed this statement........

"If any part is found to be defective following an inspection by our quality team due to faulty materials or workmanship then that part will be replaced free of charge."

    "quality team" ..........."faulty materials"............"workmanship"

You aint geeting your replacement part are you!

  2. I was simply informing members of the results of a test on my own vehicle.

I do not want anyone to buy a Unichip box...........I really couldnt care less in fact.

In future I will run my posts through mods in case these things are misinterpreted.

If you dont like these type of things may I suggest you dont look at them to avoid upsetting yourself.

    cheers

  3. Hi all

If you order 8510298 from your LR stockist you will receive the housing and filter.

If you order LLJ500010 you will get just the filter which in most cases helps most problems.

this also fits the TD6 Range Rover engine as the TD4 and TD6 are the same engines apart from the obvious 2 cylinders.

    cheers

  4. I can't begin to imagine ***tpart's response to that invitation!

I think the various companies represented on here get quite enough advertising, for free, with the blessing of the rest of the membership :P

No problem if companies and traders want to offer discounts to their friends from the forum (you could view it as pay-back for the help and encouragement we give  ) but I'm with the concensus - we are beholden to no-one and that means freedom to get on with being the No.1 friendly and balanced source of LR related wisdom (other makes of 4x4 are available) on the web.

    </twopenneth>

Just to clarify I was only kidding!

But the offer is still open for any help with parts, where they come from etc.

    cheers

    Gary

  5. This was a boxed "wheel bearing" kit. - so it was pre-made up of components. Not a fan of no name parts, but the bearings don't look to bad. as they're easy enough to change I'll probably fit them up and see how I get on. I've ordered some branded Timkin bearings to keep as spares.

hi there , whats the BM number and I'll find out whats in it for you

    cheers

  6. britpart supply decent swivel housing grease....which now come with little tubes to insert into swivel housing- a marked improvement! cant think of anything else mind!

HAHAHAHAHA........I developed that for them about 8 or 9 years ago.........At Allmakes we now but it from the same place as Land Rover ........ :)

  7. I'll give de Carbons the big thumbs up.

Pro-comp and Monroes get the thumbs down. The Pro-comps didn't last long before going very soft. The Monroes were far too soft to begin with.

While at Billing lat weekend I heard a vicious rumour that Terrafirma shocks are in fact repainted Britpart stuff :o Can anyone substantiate this?

I can tell you 100% that our shock absorbers are not from Britpart.........As for the silver springs , I buy these myself and personally developed them with the supplier.

    hope this helps.

  8. i had some decarbons on a scrapiron kit i bought and, without much point of reference, found them to be good. they never got any abuse, so i suppose they would be. ome's are, of course, the cat's t****, buti don't think they'll be within budget. maybe go black and orange then, they'll match my chainsaw trousers.....

We're not having any issues with the Terrafirma +2's here at Allmakes.............maybe a cheaper option :)

  9. I have to agree.

Having seen quality of parts regularly discussed, I go to the Land Rover parts counter at my local dealer for most things.

Yes, it may cost more. But it'll fit and do the job. Which means a whole lot less time messing about, which is also time and money wasted in the long run. And that's without the frustration of being sold utter cr*p which would spoil my enjoyment of the vehicle.

Oh, and welcome to the forum Gary.

I admire you for registering here and asking for feedback. More companies should do the same.

    Hiya Top

    thanks for the welcome.

any help you might need with "dubious" parts give me a shout and Ill help were I can

    cheers

    Gary

  10. Delphi are OE on this , this may help, if you need anymore info give me a shout.

    cheers

    Gary

You also have to remember that LR are now constantly resourcing and have an Aftermarket purchasing team. They will bwe buying as cheap as possible and given the fact that they have zero stocks on around 40,000 parts , yes 40,000!

They will be buying from any source they can to satisfy demand from dealers.
