Okay so seems to be same as western diagram shows.
i found return lines to injector pump yes different from 2.5 na plumbing.of which caught my attention.
better to know why.
seems I could install Sedimenter inline between tank & lift pump.
up on four chaulks, one differential in Salt lake, new rebuilt tranny in box no rush tho here.

I removed a gas filter from the frame when I got it.
so should the return lines be same diameter as in lines for 200 tdi?
the 200 tdi does not have return lines from injectors? Is this normal?
the 2.5 na uses three of the fittings on fuel filter plus uses the top fitting both ways for return.
whilst the 200 tdi uses one fitting on filter & one side of top fitting, a simple in & out which seems simple maybe limited system.

So the valve on the bottom can be used to drop water periodically, I am assuming it was converted thnx.

Truck A is a xmod 90 2.5 na diesel (87) fitted with a Sedimenter along with the fuel filter, this works quite well seems.
truck B is a 110 PU with a 200tdi (84) only a fuel filter , a project.
the 90 has same size fuel lines to & from filters fuel tank., the 110 has smaller return line to fuel tank,.
Is this normal for the two engines or is spec different for xmod?
planning to add a Sedimenter to 110 & was wondering about the difference 2.5na & 200tdi engine parameters.

As the water temperature use the same ground as the oil temp & is supplied the same power, it is odd oil temp does not work.
i was all over this all last summer, virtually every connector was inspected I could get to & replaced where necessary.
all the grounds you mention are there, maybe the fuse holders although I did check voltages at the fuse box.
Assuming the oil temp gets signal from the oil filter housing ground same as water temp & same voltage as water temp.

I spent ten years on my truck, seven years then three more doing the things I did not want to do. Had to fix all the little bits of which if you are doing all the details.
you will enjoy the vehicle a lot more.
the 110 PU I am working on may be a different perspective for completion.

A little over a year ago the horn started to act weird & eventually one night coming home stopped working.
i stopped pushing the stalk immediately went home & started the process of undoing the wiring harness in the four corners.
Besides the normal bits I should of fixed previously I did not find any damage.
Never did understand the rear white lights called? I fixed those to work properly with stalk on steering column.
The horn wire which had a wire sleeve from horn to L fender was full of water.
I did add more ground wires where it had been cut in drivers wheel well & added one to starter ground to firewall.
this is a xmod d-90 2.5 D, so there are different grounding straps in place.
the original wiring I had pulled from frame & rewrapped during rebuild process.
Around the same time the oil temperature gauge stopped working?
over time I replaced gauge & sender the wire to sender had continuity & voltage to oil temp was same as to gauge for water temperture.
The water temperature gauge still works & looks like they do indeed share the same ground.
The oil temperature gauge although is still not working?
i did run another ground to somewhere in dash that had same result?
Also the wiper washer may also be affected otherwise everything else still works.
i am beyond scratching my head on this, great vehicle otherwise.

Can I ask where you got the new head? As I have a 2.5 D & intend to keep it in as funny as some folks think it is.

Thnx
Had to actually hit lower swivel on the side to break it loose.
Looks like I will be replacing Top swivels, lower bearings.
Along with CV joint for starters.

Fuel lines filters & Sedimenter 90/110
in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)

Five years I just did annual fuel filters including Sedimenter which takes 15 minutes, the fuel filter little longer to avoid spills.
the lift pump still works fine bleeding system or I am just lucky there, in xmod 90.
LR supplier suggested I use stainless for the fuel lines adding Sedimenter in rear of 110 PU.
is there one system better than other, size of fittings?
