My disco's tyres are wearing extremely quickly (within a month, to bald) in the inside 50% on both sides.
I have been reading some things about toe-in...also that there is no adjustment for camber. Am I doomed? Is there anything other than the axle that could be bent and need replacing?
Front wheel toe out should be 0 to 2mm
castor angle 3 degrees
camber angle Zero
It's unlikely to be castor or camber unless it's been messed with, As for tracking I always set that parallel, If it's good enough for racing cars then it's good enough for a Land Rover

Seems someone on ebay has got the answer at last instead of spending hundreds of pounds on a new front casing when the fan bearing packs up........Apparantly the bearing is a protected Number (till now) and only sold through Landrover Dealers but you have to buy a new front engine cover which of course has the new bearing in it......Not any more.......It's on ebay under ........Land Rover 300 TDi Viscous Fan Shaft Bearing (rare) .........Nice One!

I'd say the were easier in some respects, water pump for example , east to get at and if you had a few spanners with you, you could almost change it while waiting for the lights to change at the traffic lights.....I went for a late '97 with the R380 box and Borg Warner Transfer box which has the chain drive making it quieter ( but that's my preference )..If you can get one with no sun roofs then all the better as they all seem to leak. The water outlet is siliconed in at the factory and it eventually gives up the ghost so then needs to be taken to bits , cleande and araldited back in
