Thank you for your help, i don`t know since when the spray jet is broken. Next week i will do the sump again, and see how i can do it . But the next work is waiting. The seals (t-style) of the main bearing cap and the crankshaft oil seal are ready to change. I think to put the whole engine out and make a general overhaul. Danke from Germany.

When i renenew the sump gasket of an 2.5 n/a diesel engine (LDV) i found the broken tube of a piston oil spray jet down in the sump. is it possible to fit a new one without taking the crankshaft out ?? . without the tube has the piston enough oil to do his job nice ? For any help i would say Dankeschön

Hello from Germany. In my 110 from 1986 somebody built in an 2.5 n/A diesel engine from Leyland DAF.
Since last year i had 3 times big problems with leaky, broken injector pipes. The vibrations from the running engine
made them weak. The previous owner forget to fix those clips for eleminate vibrations. So now i ordered new pipes from a german version of allmakes, or paddock. That " land rover "pipes they sent me are bend in the right way, but nearly 10 cm to long. And this company know no other possibility. I think Leyland - Daf took the diesel injection pump a little more higher than Land rover. Where can i find the right pipes in England. For any help I say thank you.
