  1. Well theres a bit of all sorts but you will get the odd scratch and depending on what you have got as where we can go.

    If its nice and shiney then ASDA car park might be the limit :( , if its a bit bruised then we can go anywhere :lol: .

    I have a disco complete with battlescars, on 33 bfg muds, rock sliders, snorkel, 2" lift, diff guards, winch and bumper so can play anywhere really !!

    I am half way between Wolverhampton and B'north.

    I am bit busy for the next few weeks but maybe some time during April if you fancy a day out., probably a sunday.

    What kind of terrain is it and difficulties

  3. noooooooooooooooooooooooo dont use the orange deflex tripe!! theyre made of swiss cheese!

    if you're going to buy any of them, buy the 'britpart' ones, theyre made by superpro and far superior to pretty much any others on the market yet at a better price.

    Umm but they are harder than the standard ones though

  4. My Disco 200TDi is in need of suspension bushes, I'm undecided on either original rubber replacements or going over to urethane. I'm thinking of the Deflex Orange one's from Paddocks. The plastic type seem more expensive but am I correct in thinking they last longer and are easier to fit?

    Yeap you are correct they last longer

    I have done it to mine and its a vast improvement on mine, a lot tighter and doesnt wallow as much as before

  6. Hi everyone,

    I currently use my Disco about 50% on road and 50% off road, I currently have road tyres on which is not good!!! I am looking to get some A/T's but also would like to get a lift kit for her.

    My main reason for the post is to try and ascertain what to do. I want A/T's suited for 50/50 use but would also like to increase her overall ground clearance without loosing too much of he comfortable road driving (doing about 600 miles a month). What lift kit should I buy? Should I be looking to increase the rim size and if so what to? What tyres would be best to buy?

    Would be really great to get a shopping list (lift kit, tyres and sizes, rims and sizes, spacers if needed, eyebrows if needed, body modifications if needed.) compiled from some people so I can get a better idea as to what I am up against!

    I don't have a clue and don't want to be miss sold products from some random person, I am not bothered by brand names and I am happier buying CHEAP quality parts.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated in my quest!

    Well I drive to work in my landy 140 miles a day on bfgoodridge Mud terrains, on 255/85/16. This will give you an equivalent of 33 inch diameter, it will therefore raise your diff about two inces off the ground. also I have a two inch lift. I have tried a few types of tyres and I found this to be the best combination.

  7. I have a disco 200tdi that is gradually being setup as the budget allows.

    I have a 2inch lift already but am looking to fit some 255*85 tyres.

    I know some (lots) of body work will be required to my 2-Door.

    Has anyone done this and got some info on how much needs to be done?

    I know it will effect my gearing also so I have a lower range tranfer box to fit.

    Hi Pete,

    Ive done this on my three door disco.

    The tyres I have used is Bfg mudterrain Its the way forward it sgood all round also the +++ of it all is, when youare driving the tyres are really quite not like some of the other brands.

    To be fair this would be my best advice to any disco drivers specially the three door ones as not too much modding.

    The only thing I had to do to mine was to cut the archers I have taken off 1 3/4 " off the front and the back and a litltle bit more by getting the truck on full articulation and working out what you need to get off.

    Apart form that I havent changed the gearing or transfer box and its still runnig fine.

    The only thing you will need to rememeber is that the speedo is slightly out and will be reading slower but thats it.

    In theory you are four inches taller now than standard also the best mod in lifting up the diffs off the ground, which again it is now two inches taller than standard.

    My truck has now done 180k so still fine.

    Also your spare wheel cant go on the back as it will be too big LOL
