Great video I recognise a lot of those lanes. You made the person I'm not that keen on Lane look easy LOL
Lol. To be honest Sue, I don't it's as difficult now as it was 12 months ago. The waterfall bit anyway.

S/h Airlockers, LSD, etc, etc, occasionally pop up on the Devon 4x4 forum, so may be worth browsing from time to time.

Nice, and it looks like your Defender is pretty much standard too?
It's got an Ashcroft locker in the rear, everything else is bog standard.
The red 90 is lovely
Thanks mate. It's picked up the odd mark here and there but not bad really considering the age and use it's had the past 2 1/2 years.

Cool. Is 3:30 near Capel curig / Betws y coed in North wales?
Yes mate, it is.
Nice.
Thanks mate.

I've put together a few clips from some of the laning trips we've done over the past 12 months

Good vid mate, it was throwing it down when we went up there the other week too. Agree about the waterfall, lot easier than it was last year

Signed a few months back.

Although I still have most of Tim Webster's articles packed away in the loft, I'd love to see them on here if possible.

Welcome mate.

Dry day, no leaf litter no doubt. MT's aren't the best choice for slippery rock climbs but then they did me proud on everything else that weekend and my winch got me past that OK
Drove this lane last week, the soggy leaves do make it very slippery.

Looking forward to seeing your results.

235-85-16 Insa Turbo Dakars. Just a tad under 32" so pretty much up to industry standard size wise, despite being a remould.

Yeah, BP Ultimate is good. It is pricey though hence using Millers, with an end result that's just as good (if not better) than Ultimate. Regular BP & a shot of Millers works out a bit cheaper too.
-
I tried 2 stroke for a while and didn't really notice much, if any difference in running. I've since tried Millers additive which does make a noticeable difference, and regular diesel with the additive is very much like using BP Ultimate diesel, if not better. When I was using the 2so I had some premixed in a container & the quantity of 2 stroke to diesel ratio won't turn your diesel red.

A few months back I was in a position to do some mods to my Defender to improve its performance, I chose a manual locker for various reasons. Since fitting it, I've had the opportunity to go out with a couple of vehicles with a fair amount more travel than my standard suspension setup. After seeing both in action, not once have I regretted choosing the locker over suspension mods and should the need ever arise, I would choose the locker again. Outside of tyres, it's probably the best single mod you can do to improve a vehicles off road capability IMO.

I haven't seen any new videos from you in a while, do you still go laning? I think the last video I watched was you blowing up the Defender.

By far the best idea is sell the Land Rover and buy a boat.

Back up and running now.

That looks deep.
Here's a vid of the January snow we had. It wasn't snowing when we set out that morning.

Before shelling out for more new bits, if your old switch is working apart from parking in the correct place, try replacing the broken bit in the original with the same part from the new one. A sharp knife will gently prise them apart. I did that and now have a spare. If it doesn't work, then get new parts.

It's because of the little button/plunger (for want of a better word) not cutting the power. As it's a genuine part I wouldn't have thought you would have had any trouble (mine was Britpart and I had the same problem). Just out of interest, was the park switch clipped on to the wiper body when you tried it or was it hanging loose? It needs to be mounted for it to cut the power. Here's a link to the thread I posted. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=81572#entry700103

What is the biggest at tyre available anyway?
Unless there's a very good reason I wouldn't go to big. Not only will your speedo be out but you may over gear it too (depending what engine you have).

Congratulations,

Reading more into it, it seems that the blue stuff is ok but the red/pink stuff isn't, though don't take my word on this?
It depends what engine you have Mike, basically Td5 & Tdci engines should use OAT, older engines shouldn't.

Unless there's been another land slip or somethings happened in the past three months since I was up there last, Bomber Lane is open and has been for some time.
