  1. @western

big thanx for your help with the part numbers!!!

    @dave88sw

i have a defender td5 with the door push button handles.

unfortunately i have broken several doors at trees on challenge events. :(

now i think this doors are a good solution. the standard series doors have

disadvantages at the windows, even look out with helmet, aso...

lets see, if they are available and how long they survive unscathed?

  2. i would like to change my front doors of my defender td5.

there are one-piece doors available, with series door handle, that is important!

but that are not the typical series doors consisting of two-piece, top and bottom.

i can not find them in part catalogs and manuals.

please give me your advice with details about the type, part numbers, pictures and supplier.

    thank you!

  3. How does the rear hoop connect to the Cross Member. The diagonal brace in the back does it connect to the rear hoop or the Cross Member, any chance of more pictures.

This is the bracket in the wheel-house. On the top stands the rear hoop and it is connected to the crossmember:

    The diagonals are between the middle and rear hoop;

  4. What I would really like to see is the second picture taken from inside the truck, if you get what I mean?

I have made new pictures for you. Hope you can see what you would like, because the roof lining is fitted now?

    > How do you use the top winch...

Correct, the winch is in the middle, behind the seats. The rope can carry out to the roof as a top-winch or back to the door as a rear winch.

    > Whats that over the top of the back door, CB arial ?...

The cb-aerial is lay down for protection against branches. Disadvantage is the short coverage.

    > Looks like you have cut the back door to allow for the fairlead?

The back door is cut out for the fairlead. A piece of carpet behind the failead prevents inflowing in deep water.

  5. Nice, but does the back have internal verticals down to the chassis, or simply mount to the roof? where's that from?

there are 3 pair verticals down to the chassis! only on the roof would make no sense.

a: outside at the windscreen down through the wings onto the chassis

b: inside behind the seats down through the wheel-house onto the chassis

c: inside in the back down through the wheel-house onto the rear crossmember

b+c are connected inside by a diagonal

the top tubes can also easily be used as a roof rack.

the rollcage was built by http://www.x-treme4x4.com in the netherlands.

  6. How do I install new axle breathers for a lr defender 90 td5.

I have to drill ø8,8mm and cut the G1/8" thread in the existing hole in the axle.

    1) Is the wall thickness enought for the thread in the axle?

    2) Do you recommend to open the axle for this job to clean the emerging swarf?

    3) Please give me your advice to protect the new plug-connector.

Thank you for your effort and kind regards.

    Carsten

  7. how can i adjust the speedometer at my defender td5?

is it electronically possible or does a transducer have to be exchanged?

i must adjust it because of larger tyres 35" and other axleratio 4.11.

i heard about a small box with an integrated circuit to fit into the speedometer-wire.

then you can easy adjust the speedometer by a potentiometer when you run different tyresizes.

    who supply this box?

    what did you do?
