Mines is an automatic with EDC. I'm looking for the easiest/simplest way of doing it as I'm not that mechanically minded. Anywhere on the EDC Boost pressure system I could use instead? Picture courtesy of Haynes! On my Disco, I removed boost control pipe from turbo. I have turbo actuator and boost control pipe and boost gauge all T'ed and coming from the banjo bolt on the back of the inlet manifold. As this should be getting true pressure of what the engine is receiving.
Sorry for double post.

A day or an hour at a time, it will take as long as it takes. Don't try rushing it as you're only putting pressure on yourself.

Jason, another stranger with admiration for your honesty; it's all too easy using another illness to cover up depression. I too am finding things very difficult just now but take one day at a time & strength from my wife and kids. The 'Black Dog' , (google it), is an unwelcome friend.
Take care and rest, your body & mind need time to heal.

Thanks for the feedback. Fiddled about with sensors on both front hubs and light went out as it should. Didn't really feel as if they moved much though? However, the no movement of the brake pedal reared its ugly head. Interestingly, when I feathered the pedal it would then brake as normal but, the light came back on. Looks like new sensor(s) needed.

Oh dear. It's a '98 300 tdi auto. I'm going to check the sensors are seated properly. Will post back result.

Have the 'ABS light won't go out problem'. Also have the problem that the light will go out but, that then causes a BIG scare;
Now, the light is normally always on & brakes work well but, occasionally it goes out. When this happens there appears to be no pedal movement & there's a terrible grating noise & 'scratchy' feeling in the pedal & no brakes. If I come off the brake & press it straight away there is normal pedal movement & feeling.
I've replaced all 4 callipers, discs & pads & still have the problem. It's bloody frightening when it happens.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately Chris this seems to be the state of things these days, and I'm not that old!! The high Viz maybe added to the impression that you were a pro so didn't want to get involved. although there is no excuse for the others speeding in the rain.
I also try and stop and help when I can and when it's safe although will think twice about recovering people, I had an incident last year where I came across a car stuck in the snow, as I started to help him I got the recovery eye out of his boot and pulled the cap off the bumper at which point he started to have a go at me about the 'damage' I was causing to his car.... I started to pack my stuff up and leave him there, not wanting any further involvement it was only his wife that persuaded her husband that he was being an idiot and he should apologise, I guess some people think that you drive a Land Rover so have an obligation to help.
In Norway they all carry a waiver when helping folks: http://carmaint.bzz.no/disco1/berging/berging.pdf
I now have an English version in my truck.
Jason.
Any chance you could post the English version on here? May come in handy for some.

Problem solved. Tried starting again with the jump leads and same response, no starting. As soon as I earthed it on the block it went first time. The only thing I have to do now is repair it! Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the replies. Once the howling wind & rain stops I'll investigate further.

Thanks for the reply, will check my earth lead. Out of interest, how could this be rectified, assuming this is the problem? Is it just a case of relocating the earth strap?

I can't get mine started to go out to play....

Had a starting problem on and off for a while now, worse when it's cold. It's not the battery a it's new & higher output than required. If I leave it sitting for around a week it can be reluctant to start; jump leads & fires up 1st thing. If I keep using it every couple of days after this there's no problem, first turn & it's away.
Haven't been able to get out for a few weeks & now the jump leads wont get it going. It starts to turn over slowly but won't catch, eventually the lights on the dashboard start clicking like crazy. Could it be the alternator? I've got new glow plugs to fit but I've since read that this engine doesn't need them anyway.
Any ideas?

Great photographs, stunning scenery, good luck with the camper development.

Got my MOT yesterday (passed first time) & my egr is blanked off. Mentioned about removing down pipe soon & was told to watch out as police were issuing Subaru drivers spot fines for missing cats. When I said I didn't think it was part of the test I was told not to make him any the wiser if I go ahead & remove it?
