  1. Hi , im after the item in the title , I have looked in the rumanian parts listing but cant find the bit im looking for .

my master cylinder is pt no. ANR2651 and as far as i can tell its just a straight clevis pin with a clip on the end ......

The rumanian listing shows an eccentric bolt and bushes ,which is for the earlier master cylinder . if it helps my vin is

    Cheers Mike

  2. After a bit more advise guys ,

Rebuilt my 300tdi engine ,when it was refitted the glow plug light worked intermitantly , ie when starting from cold ,sometimes it would work other times not !

Is there a temp sensor to energise the relay ? the wiring loom around the engine isnt the best with a few brittle wires (due too the heat) ,but the glow plugs them selves are new .

cheers for any tips , mike

  3. Not touched the master cylinder ,its probably original . For some reason there was some plumbers ptfe tape wrapped round the filler cap tho !

when i was refitting the original slave cylinder the rubber boot was torn and generally looked a bit manky and i pushed the piston back in with my finger .

Anyway i finish the engine install and have no clutch only a pedal stuck to the floor! , so change the slave for a new (lucas)one .

Anyway i will elevate the front end and try bleeding again , if its still the same i will have to fork out for anew master cylinder i guess .

    cheers Mike

  4. After rebuilding my 300 tdi engine fitted a new clutch and slave cylinder .

Have bled it ,using a one man kit and allso reverse bled using an oil can with tube attached onto the bleed nipple .

I can only get half a pedal tho , ie theres no resistance till the pedal is halfway to the floor . Having said that the clutch seems to work fine .

Anyway any advice would be welcome , cheeers Mike

  5. Hi , my 300TDI fan pulley bearing is noisy / rough when spun. Having had the timing cover off to change the timing belt i noticed there was a plastic cap where the bearing is situated in the cover . Has anyone changed the bearing sucessfully ?

I dont fancy buying a comlete new cover :o , needless to say the haynes manual is very quiet on the subject .

    cheers Mike
