The colour of the cam seals doesn't matter and the cups face inwards.

I know it's an old post, but this came up on an internet search of mine.

i feel i should correct it for the sake of anyone changing their camshaft seals.

black LUC100290L are fitted to the timing side and red/brown LUC100220L are fitted to the gearbox end.
