In a word yes. If i may expand though, a standard arch sticks out roughly 8.5 cm (sorry difficult to measure in the dark and rain !!!) so should be fine.

Hm interesting. Im about to "create" an exhaust for my nas replica project. It has a 3.5 v8 fitted. The manifolds are 3.9 efi twin outlet , these will then go into efi twin downpipes and standard y pipe. then from the back it will have a standard td5 rear silencer, small box but huge bore, then a td5 mid box replacement pipe and then some how join this to the y pipe. Should sound nice !!! and be made of easyly available parts.

I treated my 1989 110 CSW to two new rear lights, holders, lenses and fancy LED stop/tail bulbs about six months ago as the previous bulb holders were completely FUBAR.
Over the last few nights I have seen the nearside rear stop/tail light emit a ghostly glow. This evening my neighbour rang to say my LRs rear lights were on and flashing. I went out and had a look and they were both on as if the lights were switched on and they randomly flashed. I've just gone out again to look and we're back to the ghostly glow.
The light switch is definitely off and switching on and off seems to make little difference. As LEDs use a much lower current to work could this be a dodgy earth somewhere else or the alternator rectifier on the way out?
Other helpful suggestions?
Hi ,could it be a faulty brake light switch ?

hello i have posted this elsewhere in the hope of getting a wider audiance for a answer.
Okay i have just fitted a 3.5 v8 on strombergs into a 90. It has a dlm8 dizzy fitted the one with the 3 pin module on the side. I have fitted electronic type coil to it. The coil is fed by a solid white wire and also a white wire with purple tracer (these wires came on the v8 wiring loom i bought for it). The coil is not earthed. The engine spins over fine, and is getting petrol . I have recently refitted the dizzy in the correct position (it was 180 degrees out) but still no spark !! What am i doing wrong? There is no ballast resistor fitted.
Thanks frustrated v8 owner !!

Hi there not sure if this is in the right place so feel free to move it .
Rather than spend £20 on a new link lead , can anyone tell me where the wires go on the 3 pin side module dizzy , and to the coil ie which pin and what colour go to the _ terminal on coil and the + terminal. Its a 3-5 on carbs . Thanks

Thanks for those. Sorry to be a pain but which side is which? It appears that one is on one reinforcing strut forward and one towards the rear.

Hello has anybody got the dimensions of the v8 engine chassis mounts please. I would like the measurement from the centre of gearbox xmember bolt (the one nearest engine) to the centre of the engine mount hole please, thanks.

Heres mine on passenger seat box , crappy pic too !!

I know the mountings that are welded to the chassis are in different places on a v8 defender and 2.5 nad one ,v8 ones are further forward , but are they actually the same mounts ? Could i just cut off the mounts from the 2.5 nad position and move them forward.
I have tried ordering new mounts from designa chassis but they said they dont sell them .
