  1. Hi

    Hope somebody can help me

I am looking to purchse a set of Continental headlights for my 2006 freelander (not freelander 2)

I've looked at the cost of new ones which are very expensive.

Does anybody have any second hand ones they would be willing to sell me.

the part numbers I have been reliably informed are

    • XBC500980 and XBC500990

    regards

  2. I've just got a 2006 3dr Freelander and am trying to take the stereo out to put in a Kenwood single DIN unit. I have the facia adaptor but have not got a clue how to remove the trim to get the stereo out...can anyone help?

If the radio in your freebie is anything like mine, (56 model) which is a double size one then it becomes quite difficult.

The centre consul between the seats has to be removed. You can now see the bottom two screws which along with the top two on the radio fascia.

Remove the screws and the radio just pops straight out.

    regards

    Fred

  3. Not really freelander related though it will be going in one. Anyone got a sat nav? Thinking of purchasing my first sat nav and I know absolutely nothing about them.

I just want it for mainland Britain. Do they all warn about speed cameras and do they update themselves automatically when new roads are constructed or do you have to throw them out and purchase a new one.

Been told Tom Toms are good. What do I need? Any advice greatfully appreciated.

    Thanks

I've also got a TomTom one which is great, It does everything I need in a SatNav.

maps were on special offer at half price on the TomTom website

    regards

  4. A good friend of mine who has a 2000MY Freelander V6 petrol is thinking of part-exchanging the old for a new TD4 Freelander, possibly the auto version. He is thinking diesel for economy but anyone tried the new V6? at 3.2 litre it must go like a rocket :D Your comments, if any, on the new Freelander please.

Now being a devout Defender owner, I hope you don't mind me intruding on your little old forum here down in the darkest depths of LR4x4? :P

:P I purchased my first freelander last month. I have admired them since they first came out.

my wife kept telling me that we didn't need a 4x4 as we are now townies and dont need one.

Well that is all changed now! Our (October)2006 56 model Freelander TD4 Adventurer , has changed our lives.

We both like to drive the FL.

As I use it for work, my wife has to use it at the weekend.

She like me is smitten by the drive and feel of our new Freelander

    Geordie :rolleyes::rolleyes::P

  5. Hi Folks,

Thought i'd come on here and say Hi.Ive just joined the Freelander revolution by purchasing a 04 reg TD4 Sport, and i love it.

Are there any other Sport owners on here,if so would be great to hear from you.Does anyone know of any good clubs that maybe worth joining?

One last thing....Am i pretty much wasting my time thinking about doing some "easy" off roading in the sport model?

If i can work out how to attatch a picture,i will.

    Hi all :P

As a new member to the forum I would just like to say hi.

    Hi

This is my first Freelander a 56 model TD4 ( In fact my first L/R) although i have driven the motley green brown and black ones for years.

Funny how a personally owned model is much more comfortable

Mine seems to have a lot more accessories than the ones I prevously drove

    regards
