They bolt straight onto the chassis, I have never jacked from them but I have used them as sliders many a time B)

I have had these bars on my series 1 and now have them on my series 2. I have found that they hold there own very well and have saved the sills on mine many a time without losing clearance.

Other positives is they stop alot of stones flying up and hitting the side of the vehicle.

They also make a good area to scrape mud off your boots before getting back in
