  1. Curious to the outcome of this. I never get any lights ABS, TC etc (even when I should) and have previously had 'shuttle valve failure'. I was told to 'rally' the landy about on a gravel road and make the ABS system work hard.....tha was two years ago and I have had no problems since then.........touch wood!

That said, my TC doesn't work (ABS does) but I have no errors listed......I can live without it.

  2. Wish I could weld like that though, even on my workbench!!

The reason to have a fast Landy is to have the unexpected and understated Power without the Flash git of a sports car. I would love to have one, but (un)fortunately I use my landy day to day, and I am not sure that being sunk up to axles in mud with the engine on tickover while I extricate something/someone/myself would help this sort of beast!!

  3. If you want a horrible cheat, I once was planning on removing a core plug from a Ford V6. I screwed a short fat self tapper into the leaking hole (intending to use it to pull the plug out)......and the leak stopped......four years later it was still there!!:rolleyes:

  4. Thanks for the update.

As well as testing the L vs R swap as you have done, I have tested the electrical integrity of the circuits (resistance of around 1125 ohms +/- 20 or so). As all four wheels came out as the same, I concluded that the ECU was duff. Unfortunately I do not have a 'known good' to test this theory, I am currently stuck!

  5. I have exactly the same error. My ABS is working, but the TC does not. I get no lights on the dash at all, not even when the ignition is first turned on. I get 400+kph reading on the LH rear sensor. I have sort of assumed that the ABS ECU is dead, but like you I have intended to try swapping LH and RH to see if the fault moves. So far I have not had time.....let me know!! (please)

  6. Thanks for that. What about wiring? Would the conversion require a new loom?

This depends largely on what vehicle it is. I converted my 2004 Td5 Defender and it needed a full loom, I guess because of all the electrickery ;) . It is also a completely different Aircon kit also (if relevant). It was a lot more work than I expected, so in the end I gave up and got Foley Specialist Vehicles to do it.
