  1. I need a pair of TD5 / TDCi front door handles

I cant seem to locate any copy versions. I have spoken with my local land rover dealer spare parts guys who are all enthusiasts and they have told me that there are no patent parts available.

Before I part with £75 for a pair of genuine ones is there anyone who knows where patent versions are available

    Cheers

  2. I have a 300tdi sation wagon

I have purchased a second hand rear door as mine was deteriorating

I wanted the newer version door so I could have the seal around the window and the intergrated rear light

I am told that the door I have is from a tdci. How can I tell? is there any difference between a tdci and a td5?

I need to know as I need to get a new door lock and I am assuming that the tdi lock wont fit

Is there any difference between the td5 and the tdci rear lock?

Also the door has come without the rear light fitted. I have a rear light and it has two fitting holes either side as if it should screw to the rear window. There are no fittings on the rear window so are there two types of rear glass or are all the rear glass the same and I am missing a fitting kit?

    Any help appreciated

    Cheers

  3. Thanks thats helpful. The Wooly sheep is fully booked, they have a party. The Devonshire only has a few rooms left so book quickly.

    Not sure about the forresters

Try the Woolly Sheep in Skipton town centre. It's a Timothy Taylor's pub so plenty of decent beer to choose from, lots of rooms friendly staff and secure car park. Or you could try Devonshire or Forresters in Grassington.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Thanks everyone

    Thats helpful

Now, I've ordered a blanking plate off ebay so I can sort it out before removing the old plate

One other question - do I drill and then tap into the plate or can I drill the plate and bolt the probe through it. Is the plate thick enough to be tapped

    or

do I weld a bolt ontop and srew the probe into the bolt

    Cheers

  5. I am in the process of fitting an exhaust temp gauge. The instructions suggest drilling into the turbo housing and taping a thread to fix the temp probe.

I was looking at the turbo on my 300 tdi and wondering whether I can just drill through the blanking plate on the EGR and using that instead of drilling through the housing

Any one know if this is okay

    Cheers

  6. Hi

A friend of mine is coming up to Wales with me for a little greenlaning adventure. He has a freelander 2 and I have suggested that he should beef up the recovery points than those which are fitted by Land Rover

I can't seem to find too much on the internet regarding a freelander Jate ring equivalent

Can anyone help, we will need recovery points for front and rear

    Cheers

  7. Hi

In one of the LRO mags in recent months there were some cool boxes advertised that kept items cold for upto 14 days

Does anyone have a link to the website as I cant find the article

    Thanks

  8. I too have been dealing with Peter from Land Rover and he sent me the exact same email that he sent you - I was wondering if this was this sufficient when you provided this to the DVLA to change your V5 classification. You have given me hope that if I persist I can get my Land Rover reclassified.

I sent the email off to the DVLA so I'll see what their response is

As stated earlier the TFL LEZ has subsequently written to me and have stated that my defender is now not subject to the LEZ.

It may be therefore beneficial to you to send a similar letter to the one I wrote and se

e what they come up with

If I get some response from the DVLA then I'll post it

    Keep trying and good luck

    Ashley
