[Spare on door or not]

Hi all

Just got my first Land Rover - a 2003 TD5 90 hard top

Noticed the spare is inside the back mounted to the side instead of on the back door.

Takes up a bit of space so want to move somewhere else

It's got the bolts on the back door but not mounting plate.

I've heard stories of it warping the door etc.

I won't be giving it too hard a time so what you recommend.
