  1. A word of caution on the red and whites up front, They were orriginally spec'ed for a V8 so your 200 may squish them a bit!!! I will have a rumage under the posoc and see if mine have any markings left.

Saw your truck with the cage today, looking good Bow

  2. if you need any help phil give us a shout mate, cant help with the diff though, as you know i sold mine to the muppet way to cheap,

    BOW..

Yeah i remember you selling that as a bargain, and i dont think muppet is quite the right description!!!!!

We should know by sunday if we are in or out but that was just the short version of the list!!

  3. Nice to know you will be there for me Tinks!!!!!! Im sure between us all we can find something for you to do in the general area.

Mudcred, you know vince lives in McD's so even if your tensioner pulley survives the whole weekend a visit to the golden arches will be required at some point!!!!! ( sorry vince!)

  4. If its like the rest of the scorpion events no one will have a clue, then we will turn up to find the gate locked and no event because they say that there was not enough entrants,

    Carl.

Well me and wail of the snail (Brian) are entered in theory but scorpion still havn't banked my cheque for the entry yet so god knows whats going to happen!!!!

  5. So are you trying to say that I'm an absolute star for supplying the skittles & saved the day?

I would just like to reiterate what Brian said about our fuel gauge, having a working one would have been no fun at all, and we wouldnt have been able to enjoy a picnic on the A43 1 mile fromthe petrol station! Thanks for the skittles though they were tasty treats!!!

  6. Great event as usual,

we especially enjoyed the hail coming in at 90 degrees yesterday whilst we were in a mud hole

Check it out Brian, ive remembered how this computer thing works!!!

Dont forget how much fun we had trying to get your feet wet either!

    Thanks for the weekend

  7. The flap's moving - I can hear it move, and it does affect the temperature and air flow.

Or am I just being paranoid and misremembering where the guage usual sits

    About what I'd expect, really.

Surely if the rad was blocked it would be running hot, not cold?

Um, the reason it's leaking is that it didn't occur to me that I needed a gasket until I took it apart  - so I had to stick some gasket sealant on the old one and put it back. Yes, I know, obvious when you think about it, but I've only done thermostats on modern engines with reusable rubber ring seals before...

It has a viscous fan - haven't noticed it roaring more than usual but I'll check it.

I had a pig of a job bleeding my 3.5, Ended up raising the exspansion bottle a foot above the engine, running it up, letting it cool topping up repeat several times!!!! took best part of 2 hours to do it properly!

  8. Nice one!

And if you don't mind .. ........what gearbox did you use? if it was a 4 spd, what adapter did you get ..?

    and exhaust....?

    Cheers mate. :)

I used the disco LT77s gearbox LT230 transferbox and full disco exhaust system. It helped that the disco was parked next to the bobtail at the time!!! Disco gearbox crossmember bolts straight in to, if you dont have one the range rover one needs modifying to allow the exhaust to fit properly.

Not sure if there is an adaptor plate for the 200 onto an LT95 box, Motor and Diesel would be the people to ask

  9. Has anyone got or fitted a 200 Tdi into a RR classic? I thought at one stage LR fitted these to the later classics (mines a 1980 2dr) so there would be some factory parts used to fit it.......?

At the moment I'm most interested in the engine mounting (as from other posts and the help I've got an idea of the gearbox fitting etc..)

    Thanks.

    :D

Just done this conversion in my bobtail, its awsome!!! just watch the rear of the rocker cover fouling on the bulkhead, mines a bit tight! Used disco mounts seam welded on, very easy conversion took a whole day to do including gearbox aswell

  10. We wont be there, engine is laying on the floor at the moment along with the gearbox etc! Getting irritated with it now to! Still serves the bugger right for trying to take my hand off! Hopefully joining in at Llanfylin, if i get the chance will come along and marshall at round three, no promises though

  11. hi all i see there are a few peeps who seem to know what there talking about when it comes to range rovers. :D .

my small problem is when i try to start my 3.9 efi it just seems to dump as much fual as possible into the bores. i drove it one day and it was fine. the next it would not start. anyone got any ideas what it could be?? its a g reg 1989.

Sounds like the cold start injector is playing up, try disconnecting it ( its on the side of the plenum chamber). Just pull the plug of it and see what happens, failing that possibly the thermotime switch is at fault

  12. Glad to hear you all had fun at slab! Team posoc is nearly back up and running having just bought 200tdi disco! Can any one tell me if the lt77 gearbox will mount to the same mounts as the lt 95 that is currently in it though ( in the bobtail that is, not the disco!!!)

We are aiming to make Llanfyllin the first event, got to educate new co driver some how!

Roll on the return of the Dukes of Leicestershire!!!

  13. Good to know your all still mad and of to bordon again after last years finale! Just remember the trees move down there and viciously attack vehicles!!!!

Shant be in attendence myself as the p,o,s,o,c is still in bits but is getting there at long last.

Im sure you will all have a right good time of it though
