  1. Dear All;

My problem is that I had to replace my battery ang while doing so my radio needs a code for restarting.

I have forgotten the code given (5 years ego) and unfortunately could not find the radio security card.

How can I get the radio code numbers? Can any one help please?

    Thanks.

  2. I have a similar problem with my Freelander . The engine will start when cold and will run for 24 hours non stop without any problems, however if the engine is stopped it will not start ( No power to sparking plugs)unless is kept to cool down for an hour or so.

Main dealers have checked and reported that the crank censsors (2 No's)need replacement.

Waitting for spares and will be replaced after two days costing 260 pounds and 2 Hrs labour.

  3. Ah yes, I remember replacing that fuel filter on mine as I figured it probably needed it after 150k  it's a bit of a fiddle but not too tricky. The part is available new for not much money.

  4. If water is mixed with oil the colour of oil will turn creamy white, however cracks on the water reservoir indicates pressure build up in the cooling system.

Evaporation of cooland is possible. In the mean time try to replace the thermostad and cooland reservoir.

  5. I am the owner of a 2002 model Freelander V6 petrol engine. The engine fails to start when has been running for 25-30 minutes (sounds like power cut of)

Restart can only take place when I wait for 15-20 minutes.

    Any suggestions please advice.

    thanks

    Erol.

  6. Get the system compression tested if that doesnt show much the try the engine compression test for any head gasket problems. the oil and water don't necessarily always mix.

May seam extreme but at least you will knock out one major component and can start checking other areas

Well, Ihave replaced the thermostat it cost me 704 Euro's.

The problem seems to be solved , I have npo pressure build up in the header tank.

    Thanks for all the advices

    Regards

    Erol.

  7. Pressure in the cooling system is normal; coolant level fluctuation is also normal, as long as it stays between Min and Max levels. Keep an eye on: coolant level, the general aspect of both coolant and oil and engine temp.

    Dear Viorelluta:

Engine temperature is has has always been normal, I have no problem with that. The problem is that the cooland level rises up to the top of the header tank when engine is running, when the engine is stopped the level comes down to minI try to keep the level slight below the minimum as otherwise will over flow.

    Please advice

    best regards

    Erol

  8. Dear Members

    I have a 2002 model ,6 cylinder , 2.5 lt engine Freelander.

recently I have noticed a pressure build up in the header tank and some vapour comming from the smal tube connected to the inlet manifold.

Engine runs perfect, there is no water in Oil and no Oil in the water.

What can be the reason? Do I have a cylinder head gasket leak?

    Please advice

    Thanks

    Erol.
