Hi
I am running 37" wheel/tyre combination with modified axles from Nige on a 1997 Disco 1 V8, but feel that the braking system if below par. even after servicing all components.
I have read that the 110 or 130 front brake callipers have a larger piston diameter which would help however I am not sure if they are a straight swap and that I might have to upgrade the master cylinder.
My thoughts if possible would be to fit the new callipers to front and if poss. the 4 pot callipers to the rear
Any help here would be appreciated

Hi Jon
That would be really helpful
Disco was registered in 1997

Thanks Cheesy
When I ran back the wires going to the ecu plug and stripped them out it only left 3 wires so I think it should be fairly straight forward
Nige from Megasquirt has recommended putting EDIS unit in one box an shows this on web site
There was a note however in keeping the shielded VR sensor wire away from the coil pack triggers as this May be a source of interference
Cheers

Hi All
Can anyone help with the wiring when installing Megasquirt in Disco 1. I have ECU, EDIS, fuses and relays all in waterproof container in glove box wired up as per the Megasquirt diagram. I removed the engine harness back to the CUX14 ECU but will need to sort out the starting and charging circuits. I have not removed the harness from the main engine fuse box to the under dash fuse box. I have a RAVE manual but there is no full wiring diagram to follow. Any help appreciated

I suspect I will have to go delving deeper into the dash. Found the spider wires and yes they are all black. Do you know if there is also a connection to the green alarm/central locking box in the passenger footwell?
Cheers

Hi
I am looking at megasquirting my V8 disco however after looking at the wiring loom there is no large plug to disconnect from the engine harness from the rest. Traced back into the drivers foot well takes it to the ECU but with several branch offs leading under the dash. I suspect one goes to the "spider" immobiliser and the other the alarm/central locking. Have looked at RAVE electrical diag but not finding it very clear.
If anyone has done this I would appreciate some advice
Thanks
Nigel

Thanks for the advice, I will get a set of 110 calliper's for the front.
The vehicle will mainly be used off road and for trialling so I think a softer pad with a good bite would be best. Any ideas on the most suitable?
Thanks
