TD5 Disco lock renewal

Had what I think is a fairly common fault on the Series 2 Discovery, one of the rear passenger doors wouldn't open using the key fob, central locking buttons etc. Only way to open it was to use the interior handle on the door. Quted around £150 to replace the lock assembly by LR. Bought a new lock, £57, and used the Haynes manual. A bit daunting at first when I read you had to take the window and frame off! Undid lock and handle, and thought it would come out past the window frame, but no, the frame had to come out. Anyway, whole job took about 1 hour, would have been less if I'd taken the frame out first, makes lock connectors easier to see and get at. Thought I'd tell you all, feeling quite chuffed, and had to share my chuffdom with some one.£93 saved. Yipee!!
