Vamp
Hi Guys Have got a little problem I hope you can help with. As I got home yesterday the radio died, turned engin off and now wont turn over, no had any problem til now. Will bump start and if I run JL from +ve batt terminal to starter will start fine. Also the elec windows stopped working and clock/inter lights. There is power going to ignition and have found what I think is the ignition relay in passanger footwell (as it has a wire that goes live when ignition key fully turned). When i put a piece of wire touching this terminal to the wire i think goes to starter motar it starts when key turned (so thought I just ha duff relay - but) electric windows etc still off so didnt think it was relay. Also if i take off the relay in the drivers side which are to the windows and bridge the live and window conection I can get the windows to work but when relay replaced wont start and windows/int light /clock not working again. When I turn ignition on all the way all lights on dash go on ok and I can hear the relays in footwells on both sides click and then the big relay (prc6913) click one also. Headlights working fine. Tried to figure out exactly were each wire connects to check for bad connections etc but as soon as they dissapear into loom it gets a little hard!!! Thanks for any suggestions. jerboa
I had a similar problem on my '94 300 (similar electronics I think just for that year) and traced it to the alarm/immob ECU. I ended up earthing the starter relay instead of allowing it to run through alarm/immob ECU, isolating the ECU and allowing the engine to run fine. everything else ran perfectly after that. Also, make sure you contacts are clean. (in the relays and particularly the start/stop solenoid on the injector pump. hope this helps.. Hi Thanks for that but got it sorted, fuse links in engine bay from battery connections corroded, all now soldered and working fine.
