South_Oz Posted April 29, 2012 Share Posted April 29, 2012 Hi, as the title says, my 99 300 TDI S1 Disco auto jumps out of low range at the worst possible times. Half way up a very steep hill 1st gear low range, hitting a step and it jumps out of low into neutral. It did it a couple of times. First time I thought it must not have been in low range properly but im sure it was the second time. 3rd time my wife (very bravely) had her foot against the lever to try to stop it jumping out and it still did. The lever moves quite freely but it seems that the transfer case lever it tight that it connects to. Not sure what happens under there as I havnt had a look yet.
