Hello
This is my first post to the forum and I would be grateful if someone out there is able to point me in the right direction regarding a problem with my Freelander.
I own a Freelander 1 TD4 HSE (06 model) – in the last few months it has developed a problem which is driving me nuts! When I hit 50 – 70mph the car starts to pull. This only last for a few seconds but happens quite a few times whilst travelling down the motorway.
Ordinary short journeys to work, shops etc are fine it just seems to be as soon as I hit the motorway.
I’ve taken the car to a Land Rover dealer who wired it up to a computer and could not find any faults. I’ve also had another garage look briefly and they neither can find anything wrong.
When the problem first developed I thought it was the wind pulling the car but now I know there is something not quite right. My Freelander is sluggish when it is pulling but eventually settles down and I continue with motorway speeds.
I’m not quite sure what to do – I have booked the car in for a full service and asked the garage to replace the fuel filter. If that doesn’t make much difference I will replace the fuel pump but I obviously do not want to throw money away and still have the problem.
My Freelander has done approx. 89000 miles so I imagine it is time to change the fuel filter / pump anyway? A small service was done earlier this year.
Can anyone help? Thanking you in advance…
