Thanks again for all your advice and observations, will be ordering some new discs and brake pads, along with a couple of hub seals. While I am at it I will replace my brake flexi hoses (noticed slight perishing cracks). Will hopefully get all the bits together to coincide with my next holiday ! Its always awkward when you need your vehicle to get to and from work. Has anyone got any views on Halfords thread locking stick, ( looks like a Pritt stick) is it as good as the expensive, miniscule amount of liquid compound in the bottles. On the other hand maybe I was using to much, might be cursing next swivel strip down.LOL

Thanks for all your advice, will go with replacements, just another query, would it fail an MOT should a inspector notice it.

Hi, This is my first post and thanks to all your tutorials and pictures, I managed to replace the swivel which was badly pitted on my 200 tdi. All went smoothly apart from putting the bracket for the mud guard on the lower swivel pin the wrong way round. which forced me to decide I could live without a mud guard. During the strip down I noticed a patch of pitting on my disc, I have included some pictures, any advice on this would greatly be appreciated. My main concern is it dangerous, if so would it be cheaper to replace the disc or buy a second hand hub. Thanks in advance.
