After looking into this yet further I now have realised my points are missing and I am using an Aldon Ignitor II. How do i test to see if this is faulty?

My 3.5 efi decided not to start this week, after much fault finding i have think it is the "side ign amp module"? if it is called this!? i am right in thing that this should be sending an electrical pulse to the coil? I am in the understanding it does this by a the "magnetic bit"(not sure whats it called sorry) in the centre of the distruber spinning, thus breaking and connecting a circuit. So, to test this running a magnet infront of this module should complete the circuit? Is this correct method to test this? and what is it called? Thanks Nathan
