have found the alternator is gone i

hello guys got an issue with the landy so basicly my mother was driving along and the battery light showed on the dash and she started losing power luckly shes home safe it did not die the battery holds charge but runs out as it is ethier the alternator belt or the alternator itself thats failed i belive the belt is on there but ethier way its broken anywhere where i can get one thats cheap as money is hella tight and we barley have any also engine bay around the cover and the block is dirty and oily?
